PCT Filing Requirements

A Power of Attorney executed in the name of the applicant duly notarized and (Apostilled or legalized up to the Saudi Consulate) (to be used for all subsequent filings for the company).

Specification in English and Arabic.
Information

Priority: The time limit for the PCT national phase entry is 30 months from the earliest date of priority for national phases.

Examination: The Request for examination must be filed once the formal examination has finalized and the invitation for paying substantive examination is issued.

Annuities: Annuities fees must be paid every year during the first 3 month of the calendar year (from January 1 to March 31) calculated from the international filing date for PCT application. It is still possible to pay the annuity within 3 months after the deadline (April 1 to June 30) with penalty for late payment fee.

Legalization: The Power of attorney and the supporting documents are no longer necessary to be legalized up to the Consulate of Saudi Arabia if the applicant’s country is a member of The Hague Convention. The documents only need to be Apostilled.
